Live Together, Die Alone

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

What a ride. We loved it. Some big answers, some new possibilities, and some major branches of the sprawling conspiracy tree mercifully pruned. Two hours that didn’t feel like two hours, and such delicious connections and brilliant moments that we’re a bit speechless. “I think we’re going to have to watch that again.” For now, I think we’re going to be limited to random notes and notions. ‘The Lost Experience’ Continues

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

Are you playing the ‘Lost’ Alternative Reality Game (ARG)? Have there been any new clues tied to the Season Finale tonight? Three Minutes

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Last week’s episode was a tough act to follow, to be sure. And any episode that comes before a season finale will feel more like an appetizer than a feast. But I couldn’t quite get into “Three Minutes.” Eko’s parable, Sawyer’s confession, and the return of Walt (and Vincent) were memorable, and the clues in the scene with Mrs. Klugh were no doubt significant. Tonight’s story felt like the deep breath before the dive, though — like “LOST” was just tying some things down and dropping some dramatic dead weight before the climax. (more…)

The Question Mark

Libby gasps her killer’s name, and dies. Hurley, Sawyer, and Kate mourn. Jack steels his will for a war. Michael glowers in the shadows. The theme plays. The computer beeps. Fade to black. “Hot damn, I love this show,” Jen says, finally taking a breath. I wholeheartedly agree. So much happened tonight, but we happily swallow it all. On all fronts — characters, plot, and mythology — the forward momentum is palpable. It feels like Season 1 all over again. (more…)

Sharing ‘The Lost Experience’

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

There are excellent fan sites out there devoted to ‘The Lost Experience,’ the ARG (Alternative Reality Gaming) universe, where clues are collected and analyzed in detail. Wikis are a great way for fans to collaboratively build online resources, such as The Lost Podcast Wiki (from our friends Jay and Jack) and the LostPedia. There are also sections at message boards like TheFuselage.com and Lost-Forum.com. And there are several blogs, official and unofficial.

Visitors to ‘The Transmission’ are a community unto themselves, of course, so we’ll post ‘open threads’ about ‘The Lost Experience’ on occasion to give you a playground in which to share your own discoveries, observations, and theories, separate from the show itself. Have at it!

Spoiler: Photos of LOST Set

Monday, May 8th, 2006

If you don’t like seeing or reading anything about what’s coming up on “LOST,” you should probably avoid this entry. But if you’re a spoiler fan, or someone who just appreciates the art behind “LOST,” I hope you enjoy what I’ve found as much as I did. (more…)

Two for the Road

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006

Didn’t see that coming. “LOST” returns after another agonizing hiatus with a bang. Several actually. What happened to Ana Lucia might not have been too surprising, but how it happened was. And the next two bullet victims left us reeling. Jen was even more disturbed by the preview for next week. Things are getting ugly really fast. While I think “Two for the Road” kick-started things nicely, on the whole it was a somewhat uneven episode, with shocking moments but muddled motives. And save for a reveal about Jack’s dad, the flashback was largely a head-scratcher. (more…)
