Thank you Ryan and Jen for your great LOST podcast. Hope you’ll be back…

  2. Sayten says:

Talk about a show that will be missed – you two really were the beginning of a huge thing here in the Lost community. I started listening to the ‘cast not long after a recent trip to Hawaii ironically. Hope to see you pop up on the boards and do some guest hosting on some other shows, ok??

  3. emelath says:

SAD is not enough, BUMMED is not enough. WOW I looked forward to your podcast every week. I wish you both the best. I hope you can come back for Season 3!

  4. Dan says:

    Dear Ryan & Jen,

First and foremost-THANK YOU for a great run! Albeit the news was unexpected, I totally respect your decision–Marriage and Family come first.

My only regret was never calling in with my comments, your observations and enthusiasm for LOST was genuine and contagious. In fact, the reason I continue to watch the series is due largely in part to THE TRANSMISSION. Your program was eagerly awaited by me every Thursday. I played it
on my iPod during a run or have it blasting it out of my office from the sound dock. It was a great time.

From now on when I watch LOST, I’ll always say to myself, “I wonder what Ryan & Jen are thinking about this episode?”

Thank for all the sweat you both put into this, I can only imagine how you manage podcasting THE TRANSMISSION this long, plus raising kids and dealing with real life. From a fan’s perspective it was a blast!

I can only hope to see you both on a flashback sequence of a future LOST episode??? ABC owes you one for enriching our viewing experience.

Blessings to you both and your family.

    Dan

  5. Virginia from Spain says:

Hey, I’m soo sad its ended!!!
Thank you for all the wonderfull podcasts.
I hope everything goes well for you.
    Aloha.

  6. Will says:

What??? This is sad news =( You guys were THE best Lost podcast going. Thank you for all of your time and effort. Sorry but this is just so sudden! I just hope that you guys are not quitting because some idiots start to write in saying negative things about the show. Good luck to both of you and perhaps one day the Transmission will return!!

  7. Joe says:

Sorry to see you go – Whenever I missed an episode, your synopses were very helpful.

  8. Dave says:

    What a shame! 🙁

I started listening to this show just recently during the 3 week long pause in Season 2. I liked The Transmission so much! I’ve learnt about a lot of interesting theories and kind of got to know you guys too. I will miss your podcast very much.

I wish you joy and success for the future! Take care!

  9. Susan in SF CA says:

I am sad. I looked forward to listening to The Transmission after every Lost episode. I know there are other Lost podcasts, but there was something “special” about yours. Maybe it’s just because you two seem like such great people–listening to The Transmission was kind of like getting together with friends over a cup of coffee on Thursday morning to talk about the previous night’s episode. Well, I wish I had said this before, but thank you so much for The Transmission. I know it must have taken a huge amount of time to put the episodes together, and I hope you know how much it was appreciated. I wish you both the very best of everything in the future, and hope to run into you somewhere around the Lost universe.

  10. Shelley says:

You two will really be missed! My husband and I listened to you guys every Thursday evening during dinner. There will be an empty spot at our table now. Ryan, your hard work was much appreciated. The best to you and Jen.

    Shelley in Oklahoma City

  11. Michelle says:

    Aloha, Ryan & Jen,

Though I haven’t listened to your final podcast yet (I haven’t had the chance to put it onto my iPod), I’m beginning to think that this is something I should probably listen to at home as opposed to at work, where I usually listen to podcasts. Your podcast has been so enjoyable to listen to and I’ve referenced you guys so many times in my LiveJournal that I don’t know what I’m going to do now!

Like so many others, I won’t be cutting off my subscription on iTunes, just in case you decide to make a comeback. Just don’t make it one like DriveShaft and start advertising diapers! 😉

Mahalo for all your hard work and all you’ve done to help us Lost fans work through our theories. You’ll be missed!

  12. Steve Hill says:

    Guys, im gutted!

Your podcast was the best one on all of iTunes!

i was so sad to hear that you are not doing any more!

Please, come back for a few specials, Maybe a Podcast every 4-6 Episodes? Or a season Recap when Season 2 comes to a end?

Im in the UK, and your show is popular here as it is all over the world.

Thank you so much, but please come back sometime soon!

    best regards

    Steve

  13. Leigh says:

WHAT??????? I LOVE YOUR SHOW. IT GETS ME THROUGH THE WEEK AND MAKES MY COMMUTE FROM STATEN ISLAND TO NEW YORK CITY PLEASURABLE!

  14. Dave says:

You guys had a great run thanks for an amazing show and totally enriching my lost expirence! Best Wishes

    Dave
    Holland Michigan

  15. A.G. says:

    Please don’t stop!

  16. David says:

Thats too bad, i just started hearing your show 2 episodes back, good luck too you all. you guys had an awsome show. rock on!

  17. Sydney says:

    Dear Ryan and Jen,

I just want to thank you for all the work you’ve done on this amazing beyond amazing podcast.

Every thursday night, I used to listen to it before bed, and since I fall asleep in three seconds–I was able to delay one show to anywhere from four to six days. I used to even rave about it to my friends. They told me I was podcast-addicted.

I called in once and even got on the air! I thank you sooo much for doing it and I’m unfortunately going to give up listening to podcasts because none of them are even close to worth it like yours!

Thank you and thanks so much for putting me on the air.

    Love always,
    Sydney

  18. Arad says:

    Hey guys,

    That’s unfortunate, but understandable.

Good luck, and thank you so much for the podcast while it lasted. There was a definitive reason why you made the top 10 podcasting list. You guys did it, and did it well.

Thanks again, and hey, who knows, unlike LOST characters, maybe we might see you guys in a “flash-forward”. It’s gonna be a long series after all!

    Thanks again,
    Arad

  19. James says:

Hi guys, I am so sad to hear you are going off the air. But I understand that about life changes… I hope to see you next year at the next season. Also hope to see your boards keep up.

Hopefully someone from ABC may pickup your show and syndicate it over the air and air you once a week on TV. It is definately a show well worth it!

  20. Matthew says:

I am so sad. Lost is not as fun to watch without hearing from you as well.

    You guys were the best!

Thank you for the best podcast.

    Matthew

  21. Jonathan says:

Believe it or not I actually started listening to your podcasts before I started waiting ‘Lost’. You two got me started on ‘Lost’ and made it so much more interesting to watch. Are you sure you’re not quitting because ABC failed to raise your salary like they did for the regular cast members? I think $80K per episode for you guys sound reasonable. Do want us to start a petition on your behalf?

Thanks for all your hard work. I’m glad you’re ending your podcast for practical reasons and not for anything controversial or tragic. See you around the ‘Lost’ world.

  22. Dan from Atlanta says:

    Hi Ryan and Jen,

Your podcast was the VERY FIRST podcast I ever listened to starting back in October. I always looked forward to going to work on Thursdays because it was when I would get to hear two friendly voices talking about a show I like very much.

I have to say that out of all the Lost podcasts out there, your’s was the most down-to-earth and professional. Great job!

I know how much time podcasts can take to create, so I completely understand your decision. Why not do a show when the season is over so we can at least hear your thoughts on how it turned out? There’s no rule that says you have to do a weekly podcast either. Remember, when it comes to hobbies, you can create yor own rules. I think we would rather hear you two once in awhile than not at all.

Well, good luck to the both of you and thanks again for all your great work.

    Thanks,
    Dan

  23. Carla says:

Oh no. I am so disappointed. 🙁

But I want to thank you for all your hard work–I enjoyed your podcast so much every week! I will miss you!!

    Good luck in the future,
    Carla

  24. Don says:

Very sad but I know just how much effort must have gone into each show.

    What a bombshell though!

Yours was one of the few none techie podcasts I listened to each week and always looked forward to each episode.

Best wishes for the future and if you want to drop the ocassional mp3 into the feed just to let us know how things are going, I’ll keep subscribed!

    Thanks!
    Don

  25. Zach says:

    Ryan and Jen,

I am so sad that it is ending but am glad to heat that you guys became closer becasue of the podcast.
Are you guys still going to be doing the Hawaii up podcast? At least I will still be able to listen to your voice and won’t feel that I have lost friends.

    Sincerly, thanks for everything

    Zach

  26. Martha says:

    Hey guys~
As a big fan, I’m sorry to hear your signing off. Y’all were not only the first LOST podcast I listened to, but my very first podcast. Your show was always so seamless and professional, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I felt like a little kid waiting to download your cast. You guys did a specatacular job and I find myself comparing other podcasts (even ones not about LOST) to the professionalism of yours. I know it must have taken a lot of hard work and time to put out something so good. I’m staying subscribed just in case you guys find the time to make a comeback.
Que Dios te bendice tu vida. (May God bless your lives) since you were certainly a blessing to hear from every week.

    Adios,
    Martha

  27. Marcelo says:

    Greetings from Valdivia,Chile
I started to to listen this podcast very while ago, im very sad for this…..it was a great podcast…probably one of the best in the web….anyway thanks for everything Ryan and Jen, im sure that you guys in some way will be back….
    NAMASTE

  28. Melissa says:

I am so bummed! Your show is my favorite LOST podcast. I just got addicted….I’m a little disturbed that I teared up just a little when I heard your announcement – lol!

Great job, Ryan and Jen! As others have said ‘The Transmission’ has been special and distinct from other LOST podcasts. I’ve loved getting to know other LOST fans through your “You All Everybody” segment and the post-show calls, and getting to know you both just a bit. It’s been great and I’m really going to miss it.

I hope that, if your schedule changes and balance permits, that you’ll continue resurrecting the show. I’ll be holding my breath and crossing my fingers (and toes).

    Love you guys! Aloha!
    Melissa in Goodyear, AZ

  29. Indy says:

I understand what it’s like to have a full schedule, so I can’t blame you for giving up the Transmission. Hopefully you two can get back into it eventually. Have you thought about maybe putting out a much less frequent version of the Transmission? As time permitted, you could do a short cast every few episodes or so…I’ll keep you guys in iTunes just in case!!
Thank you very much for all of your work!!

  30. JT, Italy says:

    I’ll just miss you… 🙁

  31. iggy says:

    noooooooooo!!!!

by far my fave lost podcast – i’m very sad ya’ll are leaving.

ryan and jen – thank you so much for your efforts. i loved the show.

  32. Ben says:

Where will I go now for a show as great as this? :o( Thanks for all the previous shows though. I listened to them religiously!

  33. devonk says:

J&R – Good Luck to you. Thank you for the excellent broadcasts. Been a weekly listener for quite a while now. Hope you can enjoy watching the rest of the series without a notepad on your lap.

  34. Julie from Chicago says:

    Dear Ryan and Jen,

I, too, am deeply saddened by the end of The Transmission. As many people stated above, if it’s true that it’s mostly because of time constraints that you can’t continue the show the way it’s been done, perhaps someday when things calm down a little, or you’re just really bored, you’ll put out a special edition once in a while of The Transmission. I’m sure all of us would listen. In the last 24 hours I have been brainstorming ideas for how you can maybe make special episodes that only come out once in a while.

Here are some ideas. Feel free, anyone, to add to them:

    1. I know you normally put many hours worth of planning into each show, but I’d enjoy an improvised show if you ever have the itch to come back. You know, just wing it. Hell, I’d listen.

    2. A commentary show: a podcast that can be played simultaneously with an episode of LOST, with all of your insight and comments. It would be cool to hear your insights on a location while we’re looking at it on the screen.

    3. Specials – when something really wild and crazy happens on LOST, just pop out of nowhere and throw out a podcast about it!

I know it’s a long shot, but in a few weeks or months from now, I hope you consider some of these ideas. You know we’ll still love you if you never do another podcast again, but maybe an alternative version may suit your family’s needs, as well as fulfill your love for talking about LOST.

I always admired how you never made fun of people’s theories (no matter how far fetched they may have seemed) and encouraged people to share their thoughts. It felt good to know we could do that without being made fun of or mocked. You genuinely welcomed all ideas, and I loved that. Also, thanks for not being full of yourselves! There is a great temptation in Podcasting to just yammer on and on and on and go off on a million tangents that nobody thinks are cute or funny, and you guys never did that. That was cool – you were straight to the point and humble, and that is very admirable.

    Ok, I’m done now. Mahalo.

    Love, Julie

  36. NemesisVex says:

The Transmission may be no more, but let’s remember it was a spin-off from Ryan’s original podcast, HawaiiUP. Perhaps when Ryan posts another HawaiiUP show and Jen appears for her Pith of Pop segments, they can be coaxed into a little Lost talk like the old days, hmmm?

I encourage folks to check out the HawaiiUP archives. Jay and Jack will never miss out on Jen’s sexy voice.

  37. bianca says:

Thank you both for all the love and support that you put into your show. It came through in your podcast and thats what made it so special and entertaining for all the listeners. You will definitely be missed. And I will have to find somehting else to do on Thursdays at work. Best of luck to you both. Thanks!

  38. Mike says:

I was found, but now I am lost!.
Ryan & Jen……….your show was great every week!
Everything happens for a reason, good luck with your future endeavors.
I really became a lost junkie, and I loved your podcast the best.
Aloha from Chicago and hope to hear from you again.
Remember, you finished your podcast with a Desmond comment…..
so I’ll end my comments the same way…he also said
” You’ve got to lift it up”, so keep it elevated!!!
    God Bless,
    Mike

  39. Marc James says:

The problem is every other Lost podcast I listen to from now on will be compared to The Transmission, which was just the perfect blend of everything. They just can’t compare and aren’t the same. There really isn’t a good replacement, just decent (at best) substitutes. As much as I try to respect the decisions of Ryan and Jenn, I can’t help but feel let down and truly sad. It was weekly ritual for me to listen and it’s like this great couple is dead to me or something (hence the “see you in another life”). All in all, it’s been a couple days and I still feel as depressed this happened. Wish there was something we, as listeners, could do. Maybe financial support for this? Will miss you dearly.

  40. Jim says:

    Say it ain’t so !
    🙁
Ryan and Jen, thanks again for all the hard work you did
on the Transmission Podcasts I truly enjoyed all your
Transmission Podcasts and I’m going to miss them !

On a side note, since I’m a soundtrack collector you might want to check out
Varese Sarabande’s site, there’s a interesting announcement in their
news section, most defintely Lost related.

  41. Tom says:

Wow I feel like we will be missing a big part of the show. The recaps always helped me see things clearer. The forward cabin always got me thinking of new possibilities and even the great quality of callers comments and speculations actually sent me down many paths reading books watching movies etc.ABC should actually pay you to keep the fire going. I for one would be willing to spend say 5 dollars a month subscription fee! You a definitly a big part of my “Lost” experience. Thanks Again!

  42. Miller says:

    Worst. Day. Ever.

  43. shivani in new york says:

i’m really going to miss you both, and your outstanding podcast. thank you so much for the time you’ve offered, it was greatly appreciated.

(okay, now i’m off to pout…)

  44. Mustang Denise from Michigan says:

    Aloha Ryan and Jen,
You guys are gonna be missed so very much. I am so Caught up in ABC’S Lost and your podcast has been the most wonderful compliment to the best thing that has ever been on Network TV….or Syndicated for that matter!
I did try the other podcast and The Transmission was the one that really worked for me!
I had just this pass weekend bought a cool headset/microphone so I could start sending audio files and join in the chatter.
I just want you both to know that I wish you only the best and hope someday to make it to your beautiful state and hear a familiar voice say either aloha or mahalo!!!!
Ryan and Jen (who has the greatest voice ever for a podcast) please take great care and know there is a whole community out here in cyber space that is LOST without you.

  45. Bryan says:

    Mahalo,

Good Luck Guys, thanks for all that you have done.

I am glad you can go off into a beautiful Hawaiian sunset.

  46. Walter says:

    Guys,

I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that you will be remembered as pioneers of the brave new medium of podcasting! I know that when I think back years from now, it will definitely be The Transmission that I will remember that got me hooked on the whole concept. Great work and thanks for all you’ve done!

Anyway, I’d like to dedicate this song to you – not as a “going away” present – so let’s call it a “signing off” present!

“Farewell Transmission” by Magnolia Electric Co.:

And be sure to tell your kids when they grow up that you were famous and all… Aloha! 🙂

And I thought we had something special…

  48. Greyzzz says:

I loved your show. Best designed and best to listen to. Best of luck with everything you do!

  49. Mark says:

Sorry to see the podcast end. On the other hand, my modem will be happy for the reprieve from grabbing 90-minute audio files once a week. I hope the one Sledgeweb [http://lost.cubit.net] is thinking about starting up is half as good.
