    Ryan and Jen –

I totally understand your reasons behind dropping the Transmission – but it’s sad news nonetheless. Thank you for an excellent ride – and God bless.

    ~ Jeremy

PS – and what, exactly, does Mahalo mean??

  2. Mike says:

    Ryan and Jen-

Thanks for a great podcast. Best of luck to you in the future.

  3. Thom says:

    Ryan and Jen,

Like you, I listen to just about every Lostcast out there. But yours was The One. I’ve listened to every single show from the beginning. As much as I love Lost, a big part of experiencing the show is now gone. You made a grown man well up.

You two (and the three little ones) deserve the very best. Thank you so very much for all you’ve given us.

    God bless,
    Thom

Big shoes to fill… Keep us posted on the island!

  5. Miss Chryth says:

    Ryan & Jen-

I was very sadden to hear the news this morning. I always looked forward to starting my Lost-podcast week with The Transmission!

You were my very first downloaded podcast, I have listened to you guys from the beginning. Regrettably, I never sent an email or phoned in a theory 🙁

I totally understand your decision, I can’t imagine how much time it takes to create such a kick-ass podcast as The Transmission. I hope to hear from you both on Lostcasts, Jay & Jack and/or Scott & Steve….

I will truly miss The Transmission, it was fantastic!

Good Luck and best wishes in all your future endeavors.
    Miss Chryth, Venice Beach CA

  6. Chris says:

Hey guys. I just learned the morbid news. I loved your show so much and I am devestated that it is over. I would watch the newest episode of “Lost” and just think of all the great stuff you would talk about in the next transmission and the next day I would listen to it as soon as I could. The show tought me many of the therois and inside tid-bits hidden throughout the episode.

But, I am not angry at you at all. I understand that it has to stop and I respect you for balancing the show with real life. I congratulate you guys for getting one of the top spots on Itunes and I hope that…somehow…maybe you will occasionally put out an podcast or something

I, and thousands of other fans, will miss you dearly

Mahalo and thank you so much

    ~Chris

  7. Jason from Florida says:

Wow guys. I’m sorry to see you guys go. Yours was the first podcast I subscribed to, and hands down my favorite. I hope everything works out for you.. and if you decide to bring The Transmission back at some point.. we’ll be here to listen. Thanks again.

    Jason

  8. Aaron says:

    Ryan and Jen –

You guys are so killer for having done your podcast for as long as you did. Every time I would listen, I would think about how much time you both must put into it. You both were so great to listen to and I’m so appreciative for the podcasts that I got to listen to.

  9. Michael G. says:

    Ryan and Jen-
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the great podcast. Although i’m sorry to see it go, i know it helps to know that your listeners are behind you all the way. Please know that we won’t be mad! One day I was stumbling through the top podcasts and i saw yours. Whatever it was that made me give it a click, i don’t know. But man am i thankful for it. You have helped me so much with Lost and have really provoked a lot of my thoughts about the show. I think because of you i got so addicted to Lost. And i’m glad too. It’s been great listening to you, and i’ve loved listening to you. I think that not only myself, but many of your listeners would love to see a picture of our favorite podcasters posted on your site. It would be awesome to see the faces and the family behind the magic of The Transmission. Again, Thank you. And i can’t express it in words, but i just want you to know that myself and all your listeners are truly glad that we had the transmission, no matter how much we hate to see it go.
    Always with you-

  10. Brendon says:

This news is terrible. My favorite podcast is going away. Thanks for all the hard work and the entertainment you provided. As it is said, all good things must come to an end. It’s just sad that you couldn’t end whenever the show does. Once again, thanks for everything.

  12. seth says:

ryan, jen, thank you both so much for your wonderful podcast. i first got into the transmission just as season two of Lost was beginning and every week i would download your show, put it onto my mp3 player and listen to it on the bus into work. it’s funny but i looked forward to your show just as much as i did to a new episode of lost. it’s a very real shame that the transmission is coming to a close so soon, but i loved it while it lasted. i hope everything is going good for you guys. i’ll miss hearing you each week.

  13. Rose says:

You and your show will be greatly missed as we all “get Lost” each week. But you deserve praise for putting your family first, and not forcing them to sacrifice just to satisfy our addiction. 🙂 I look forward to hearing from you somewhere out there in cyberspace.

    Rose

  14. Melissa says:

I am with everyone above in being so sad about the ending of the transmission I cannot even put it into words. I haven’t listened to the podcast yet. It’s downloading as I write this. But since this isn’t Thursday, I assumed it wasn’t good news.

I hope that everything is ok. When last I read, Ryan wasn’t feeling well. My thoughts are with you. If you ever decide to get back into The Transmission, I will be ready to listen.

Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
    Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way

  19. Judy says:

    Ryan & Jen,

I have to join everyone with saying a huge THANKS for producing The Transmission. I only discovered your show 2 episodes ago and was instantly hooked! You both have done a terrific job.

  20. ciniminis says:

Thank you. Miss you. All that’s being said 80+ times above, plus all the fans that didn’t post but feel the same… But WHY? If it’s time constraints, we would love your podcast just the same if it comes out on Sunday nights (you REALLY didn’t have to kill yourselves getting it out Thursday mornings). If it’s financial, post a Paypal donation button and we’ll all help out. If it’s personal, we won’t ask anymore, but surely would have appreciated a little more warning ahead of time.

  21. Sarah says:

Just to echo the many many comments you have, thank you so much for doing The Transmission. Im a little sad to see you go, but I can understand it takes so much work to put this together. I wish you well in your lives and I hope you enjoy the time you’ll now be able to have.
    Thankyou

  23. Cheryl from Ca says:

    Ryan & Jen,
Ok, someone had to say it, I’ll be LOST without you!! The Transmission was the very best podcast out there and THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your hard work. After last weeks podcast i meant to email you to say that i LOVE the detailed replay of the show that you do. I am deeply sad, you will be missed. Be well and happy,
    ~Cheryl~

  24. mel says:

OK… here I was updating my iTunes Podcast subscriptions and I see an early Transmission podcasts called “Aloha.” What’s up with that? Wow! You guys are suddenly leaving before the season ends? Gees… The Transmission was the first and only LOST podcast I regularly listened to, and only recently added the ABC podcast to my lineup.

I have to tell you I enjoyed every podcast of THE TRANSMISSION because you folks caught a lot of stuff in each episode that I did not catch the first time or was not aware of. Plus all the people who sent clips in also helped. Now what am I gonna do? I guess peruse the regular message boards or find another LOSTcast…

That all said, the biggest draw of THE TRANSMISSION for me is the fact that it was locally produced and of course an offshoot of HawaiiUP which I hope you folks will continue even if on a periodical basis. I am sure all the LOST fans who listen are shocked at this, but then I am sure you both have a good reason for discontinuing.

The good thing is that I have every episode of THE TRANSMISSION saved so that when the SEASON 2 DVDs come out, I can review them as I watch episodes 1 – 12 all over again at some future date. So in that respect THE TRANSMISSION will still be relevant and come in handy for review purposes.

Good luck and hear you folks on HAWAII UP. Aloha,

    mel

  25. Scott from LA says:

What a drag! You guys added a lot to an already great show. You were inspiring as a couple as it seemed like you were having fun with each other. I loved your theories and lively discussions. You will be a missed part of my week.

    Good luck in your after-transmission-lives.

  26. Bo from Minnesota says:

Ryan & Jen, you guys will be missed. Thank you for all your hard work.

  27. Justin from Rancho Cucamonga, CA says:

    Ryan and Jen,
Thank you both so much for doing The Transmission. I can’t tell you how much i will miss listening to this podcast weekly. As big of a LOST fan as I am, you guys were the first and only LOST podcast I listened to. I have been a frequent listener since episode one and cannot stress how much I will miss your podcast. It has been so much fun and I will miss you both.

    See you in another life,

    Justin C.

  28. Glenn Rumfellow says:

    No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our whole family (2 adults, 4 kids) listens to and loves your podcast. You’ve done a wonderful job with it. Please consider somehow continuing in some capacity, or at least choose someone else to “carry the torch” and continue the high standard you’ve set.

Anyway, we certainly understand your needing to get out from under the “obligation” of doing the podcast. It would sure be great if you could make a living doing the podcast, but certainly the rest of life is important, too. 🙂

Thank you for your true labor of love and gift of an excellent podcast. Be blessed!

    Glenn

  29. Wendy says:

You were the first podcast i tried…I’ll sure miss you guys…i hope you can come back someday…Thank you guys for all your AMAZING podcasts!

  30. Kenneth from Scotland says:

    Oh, comon 🙁

I just started listening, I’ll have to go back and listen to your other pods.

Well I guess it had to happen, wise move I guess.

I just wanted to say thanks for the best pod casts I’ve ever had the honor to be played on my PC.

Good luck to both of you, I mean that.

  31. Renee says:

I just left a message elsewhere and then checked the update to see this. I’m so sad to hear this — you have the best podcast I’ve heard so far and so enjoyable. You both have such warmth and personality, I’m sure whatever happens next for you both will bring you both happiness, I’m so sad I missed this podcast from the beginning.

Best to you both…and I’m missing you already.

    Best,

    Renee

  32. Nate says:

I really appreciated all your hard work.
    Thanks alot & good luck!

  33. Tim says:

    I’m Lost without “The Transmission”

I can’t tell you how disappointed I am to hear of the demise of “The Transmission”. I just put in a vote at podcastalley raving about the show and I was blindsided by your announcement.

Obviously you have made your decision so let me share a thought or two. I’m not sure if you two know how good The Transmission is. All of your efforts in preparation and production quality really come across in what I believe to be one of the best overall podcasts available.

I don’t participate in the forums so I will leave you with this. Thanks! Thanks for the work and effort. I really enjoyed The Transmission. Your passion for the show and attention to detail enhanced my viewing enjoyment immensely. Your personalities and delivery were always very friendly to the point where I feel like I know you both.

While you do not know me, I will always consider you my friends in Hawaii.

    Aloha.
    Tim

  34. Chris Anderson says:

  36. Nancy says:

What a shock. It’s like they cancelled “LOST”. Always looked forward to your conversations about the show. Stay happy.

  37. kanawao says:

    Ryan & Jen,
Man I cannot believe this is coming to an end. Who would of thought how BIG this would get. I wish you would explain further the reason for shutting down. To me it seemed that it was just too time consuming for a “hobby” especially for being parents. I bet that your show would of grown even faster had things been different continued.

One thing about Podcasting, it seems that growth isn’t always better. Smaller shows are more intimate to the listener and far more pleasant for the Podder. Ryan you always gave so much credit to Jen, but I’d like to thank you for putting out such an incredibly professional show. Your quality is “No Ka Oi” in the podcast community!! Now go relax and spend time with your family!

    Aloha,
    kanawao

  38. Sarah says:

    Nooooooooooo!

    But you are my favorite!

  39. Kevbo says:

D’oh!! Thanks for all the shows and your efforts. I know you’ll be silently enjoying the show along with us all.

  40. Sarah says:

Seriously, though, thanks for the podcast – I have really enjoyed it. You guys will be missed!

  41. Cool Paul NYC says:

    Ryan and Jen,
Thank you so much for bringing me into the world of podcasts and for your unique perspectives on the show. I will truly miss you guys very much.

I was listening to your comments on the Fire+Water edition of The Transmission, and got very anxious when you had mentioned that you were considering shortening the length of the show. Now that you have instead decided to end The Transmission, my anxiety levels are at an all time high. 🙂

Seriously, though, like other bloggers have mentioned, your show was terrific. Your aloha spirit really transmitted well, and has encouraged me to research a trip to Hawaii. If and when that comes to fruition, you guys (and Lost) will be in on my mind for much of the trip.

Hopefully you will send audio file feedback to other Lost podcasts so we can continue to get snippets of your Lost input.

Good luck with your future endeavors, and thank you so much for enriching so many lives!

    -Paul

  42. wailana says:

The Transmission was the best Lost Podcast out there and we will miss it very much. MAHALO NUI for the hard work, time and energy you put into. You did a great job introducing my to the world of Podcasting and Lost Fan groups out there. It all started with the HawaiiUp Podcast, then this then … I owe my new found interests to you, Thanks.

Good luck in the future and know that we are always here and ready if you find the time to expound your knowledge and theories to us again.

  43. Jayo! says:

Oh man, Ryan and Jen you’ll truly be missed! I only called in once, but I was a faithful listener and really loved the show. I guess I’ll have to go out and find another Lost podcast to listen to, but I know nothing else will compare. Best of luck with everything in the future, and I’ll remain hopeful that one day in the not-too-distant future you’ll make a return to the podcasting world.

With saddness over your leaving, but happiness knowing that this is what’s best for you guys – Aloha!

  44. Brandon says:

Wow, was super stoked to see a new episode downloading so quickly and then soooo super bumed to see and hear why. Thanks for giving us such a great media to listen to every week. I just wanted to add my two cents to the ever growing list of comments by the your loyal listeners.

Ryan and Jen, I think you two have always done a superb job and have raised the bar for podcasts. All the work you both put in to creating weekly shows is amazing and very much appreciated. I am happy to say that The Transmission was the very first podcast I listened to on my iPod and it remains one of the best, well produced, well researched podcast out there. Thank you both for your dedication, enthusiasim and most of all allowing us all to join you in this wild ride we call Lost.

I wish you both all the luck in the future. Aloha!!

  47. Chris Weber says:

I am genuinely saddened by the end of your run. I have never called in to the show and this is my first post to your board. I have connected to your show as much or even more than LOST the show. I will miss not listening to your well-produced podcast.

I’m still hoping that you just need to change your mind about this whole stopping thing. For now I’m lost in a different way. How do I disconnect from your show and pick up another. How can any other show live up to the ordered, smooth-going nature of your show.

It will take time, I know. I miss you guys already.

  48. Eric says:

What a shame you have to stop, had a great time listenening to your show, thanks for all the good shows !!!

  49. Nadia says:

Sigh…..thanks though for your podcast…what happened? hope we hear from you guys again at somepoint! It was nice to listen to other people besides the producers of the show Lost. This website closing too? It was also nice to post here. Miss you guys. Thanks again!

  50. Nadia says:

did you guys give away something in one of the podcasts…were we too close to figuring things out……???? 🙁
again thank you for your enthusiasm!
