  1. Ryan says:

Just stumbled across another “LOST” band: The Others!

  2. Connie in Alaska says:

I am in the middle of listening to the podcast and a thought occured to me sparked by your discussion of Clair’s awkward scene with Locke. I am wondering if, due to the writers’ strike and the disruption of Season 4’s episodes, we will see more of these kind of odd, misplaced scenes that are necessary to the narrative of the story, but were originally shot and intended for a different context. The scene with Clair may be pivotal to her story, but had to be creatively edited into this episode instead of the one it was written for because there are three less hours of story to play with.

  3. Connie in Alaska says:

Another thought regarding Ben’s “you’re mine!” statement to Juliet and the mysterious Annie. If Annie acted as Ben’s constant and she died, maybe he is looking for a NEW constant and has chosen Juliet to fill that role. A lot would be riding on her acceptance or rejection of him.

  4. MJ says:

Forward cabin: Sun at (you know where). Could it be flashback of Jae Lee?

Thanks for links to Lost music and original video. In the video, I think there are similar visual clues, like pictures, photos, etc. like in LOST. Is there a blog site and pod cast for this mini clip? Very, very funny.

Connie, I like your Make a New Constant theory (Make Your Own Kind of Music, Cass Elliot, season one/two). I was thinking that Ben’s list for Sayid consisted of constants for Widmore group and that he was eliminating them. “My head hurts.” as Ryan and Jen would say.

  5. Stefan (Lost in Brazil) says:

Shakespeare’s Tempest is so prominent in everyone’s conciousness that we tend to forget that it is also a name for a method of detecting electromagnetic radiation (google tempest device ot tempest attack).

Don’t you think it is odd that
    a) you name a power station ‘Tempest’
    b) that a power station has huge tanks of chemicals?

    Just my 2 cents

    Regards,

    Stefan

  6. Aly K says:

Thanks for the “Go Gators!” line. As a University of Florida alumna, I’m glad they finally mentioned a town other than Tallahassee.

  7. Rose says:

Welcome back, Jen and Ryan. (Yes, I know I’m a little late, but I just found you again) I’ve really missed The Transmission, as well as Hawaii Up.

Just a thought… (and if its been mentioned, I apologize, I’m in the middle of catching up) a recent episode noted the date and how close we are to Christmas Tsunami and how people are speculating on how it may or may not effect the island. Could the island possibly be the source of the tsunami? Perhaps another electro-magnetic disaster that cause problems outside the sphere of our island?

    Just my ramblings…
    🙂

Hey, Ryan and Jen! I’ve been meaning to leave a comment ever since your triumphant return, but Lost is shown over here in England on Sunday nights so I can never get online quick enough to comment before the podcast is out! I’m so glad you guys are doing The Transmission again. I really missed it. Season three wasn’t the same without you guys.

I didn’t really like The Other Woman much, to be honest, and I think it is the weakest episode of the season so far. Even the things we learned in this episode (such as the reveal that Mr Widmore is funding the freighter) could have been handled better. That home movie of him beating some poor guy up was a bit more Lost Experience than Lost.
I also agree with you that Kate letting herself get knocked out by Charlotte really wasn’t in line with her character (or the general character of the Lostaways) and was a pretty blatent example of the writers going the easy route to get their pieces in place.
And is it me, or did Dharma get progressively more and more lazy with their stations? Like, the first few they made they were all enthusiastic and built the underground and almost completely hidden (swan, pearl, staff, arrow) and then after that they just couldn’t be bothered (flame, hydra, the new one… the tempest? i forget).
One thing that has been niggling at me all season is that Claire and Alex are in the same place, living side by side, and we haven’t seen one word of thanks from Claire to Alex for saving her when her baby was about to be cut out of her (in the flashbacks from ‘Maternity Leave’). I’m pretty sure the writers have forgotten about that. They must have done.

Anyway, in spite of my grumbles I am enjoying this season much more than last season, and I’m thrilled to have you guys back!

  9. Jennifer says:

One thing I haven’t figured out yet is what Miles meant by “I’m not going anywhere, I’m exactly where I want to be”- he said that to Kate when she told him she wasn’t going to let him go. Then Harper said the exact same words about Ben. A clue for sure, but to what? Any thoughts?

  10. Z says:

Well, if I may take this one Jennifer. It seems as if Miles was simply referring to his act of extortion against Ben.

Coincidentally, Ben uses the same line because HE IS IN THE RIGHT PLACE. Ben’s a clever boy, remember: he went up the hill to meet Jack… being captured was just one way of getting involved with the Lost’ies. And since Juliet is with them, he had no other way of planting a mole into their group. Ben survives with information, he knew exactly what he was doing when he met Jack and pushed him to the edge. Getting punched in the face 15 times, however, was a glitch in his plan.

  11. Andrea says:

I love your show. I’m a UF alumnae.
I just wanted to say how excited I was to hear Ben mention Gainesville.
It made my day to hear you guys say “Go Gators!!” on your show.

    Thanks for the wonderful show!!
