I’m commenting on this before I’ve heard the whole cast, but:
Another reason stats like Education Week’s can be deceptive is that some states count their “graduates” differently from others. I don’t know how Education Week collected its data, but in some states, if a student drops out and says he or she “intends to earn a G.E.D.,” the states don’t count that as a dropout, even without following up to see if the G.E.D. was ever earned.

Whoa. I’m so glad Salt Lake Blvd. was expanded around the location of the old Costco because I remember the clusterfuck of traffic on the weekends when it was open. The residents around that neighborhood were pretty much locked in.
I’ve got a Target down the street from my apartment. It’s safe to say I’m furnished mostly by Target. If Hawai`i ever gets an IKEA, I might consider moving back.

GREAT to hear you back again Ryan! I remember talking to you a few weeks ago and you said how busy lifecasting has made you lately, but nice to see you got a break to do a podcast.

Ryan and Jen,
Welcome back. Loved the podcast. I’m going to have to check out more of Doolin Rakes. I love Irish music. I agree Donnie Darko was interesting and mind blowing but a little too dark for me, but worth seeing once. Keep up the good work and by the way my name is pronounced like Jeff but it is the original British spelling (short for Geoffrey like Geoffrey Chaucer or Geoffrey Beene)
Mahalo,
Geoff

Please release another podcast! It’s been almost a year since I’ve heard Hawaiiup, that is so hard to believe. I miss hearing the awesome music you play and your movie reviews and Hawaii news!

I second Rachel’s post. I know you’ve got other projects and ways to express yourself these days… and with the Transmission broadcasting again I’m happy as a clam… but I do miss HawaiiUP.
Oh, and my son will be born in a matter of weeks. I might just need a new HawaiiUP t-shirt. We’ll just have to wait and see.
😉

Ironic the Lifecasting episode marked the end.

Of this one podcast, yes. But “The Transmission” continued for another three years, and my wife and I just started our newest show, “Popspotting.”
