HiUP #07 – Heard Not Seen

Show number seven, again starting off looking a little short but ending up a full half hour and change. I cover stupid crimes and follow up on some earlier stories, then both my daughter Katie and my son Zac get into the act. After a relaxing minute or two on the beach, and some great music, Jen and I tackle “Lost” once again. Finally, I ramble about videoblogging, which you’ll be glad to hear I’m not planning on doing very often.

In this show:

  • 00:40 HawaiiUP Menu
  • 01:30 HawaiiUP Headlines
  • 07:15 Katie on the Big Island
  • 10:05 Zac on the U.S. Economy
  • 13:05 Blank Audio Postcard: Aina Haina
  • 14:25 “All Pau” by Coconut Joe
  • 20:15 Pith of Pop: The Podcast Edition
  • 25:00 Podcasting vs. Videoblogging

Here’s the Coral cache link, and here’s the local file.

Just a note: that interview w/ Zak was hysterical. My 2 daughters (5 & 8) were in the car when it was playing and they were ROTFL.

I think you have a strong “bit” here. You can use Zak as your interviewee while you get across your political points. It’s super funny. You might want to consider making a podcast just for that. He’s great!

I can’t wait to listen to the next show! I studied at UH over the summer and have grown to miss the islands. Although nothing could substitute for actually being there, this show helps me remember my time there fondly.

I’m really enjoying your podcasts and missing Hawaii so much. Hope your trip to the Big Island is a great one, sounds like you’ll be covering some real estate, from tip to tail. Enjoy Ken’s Pancake House, I’ve spent many
fun late night/early morning visits there. Best, Emma

    Aloha Ryan,
Loved the financial analysis with Zack; if only our President could lay out his plans for us even half as eloquently!
