I can’t beleive it! You guys were BY FAR the best of the LOST podcasters, and without you guys, I think I’m going to give up listening to the LOST podcasts. Hopefully whatever is going on with you guys clears up and you can make sporadic returns with the Transmission. Until then you will be missed.

  2. paul from olathe, ks says:

say it aint so. it was sure good while it lasted. i just started listening too.

  3. Kirk says:

Not fair – like ATM’s you got us hooked.

The truly sad thing is, I’m certain folks would have paid cash money to hear this podcast.

    I know I would have.

Thanks Ryan and Jen, and if you two are closer as a result of this experience then that is a great thing.

    Bummed in DC,

    Kirk

  4. Ralph says:

    Ryan.
thanks for all youve done. i hope you got a good nights rest last night. it was well deserved

  5. GMHJr says:

Major downer. This is the only podcast I listen to religiously and since the news I have checked out other LOST podcasts. They all have merit but your podcast was major-league while the others feel like they are struggling in the minors. I know with three kids and work and such this must be tough to maintain. Kudos for you for going out on top. You will be sorely missed.

  6. Jan says:

WHAT!?!? You can’t go!! You two do the best Lost podcast out there. I feel like I’ve lost a good friend. Please come back!!!!
Thank you though for all the GREAT work you’ve done, maybe Adam Curry can give ya a job. : )

  7. chad says:

Thank you Ryan and Jen for your podcast. It truly helped to make Lost a special show. Does anyone out there want to officially takeover “The Transmission 2.0”

  8. Susan says:

I’ll be LOST without your LOST transmission, oh well, I shall have to go and lose myself in LOST repeats!
Many thanks to both of you for all your hard work, you will be soooo missed.

  9. x98lbwuss says:

Whatever they are paying you guys to quit I will double it. Thanks for everything. You made a good show great. Maybe in another life….

  10. sean says:

omg u guys cant cancel the show…its so good…you were the best podcasters!

  11. Jennie says:

Thank you so much for all the enjoyment you guys have given your listeners! I’m so sad to know that I’m not going to hear your voices anymore. You’re recaps were always fantastic, and helped me with all the little stuff I might have missed… and I loved listening to you theorize about what might actually be going on with ‘Lost’. Maybe someday you guys will come back to us. If you get bored enough during the summer hiatus, feel free to pop out a couple of podcasts. We’ll be here waiting if you feel like starting up again.

    Much Love,
    Jennie

  12. Matt says:

    Hi Ryan and Jen,

I cannot believe the news and am really sad to hear it has come to an end. The slick production and relaxed style of the transmission has been astounding and is why so many of us listen to your show.

Perhaps all of us could donate a pound a show; you both give up your day jobs and move to a 3 shows-a-week schedule!!! It was just a thought?

Take care and good luck in what ever you do and keep up the enthusiasm you both have!

    Regards

    Matt (UK)

  13. Rob says:

    Ryan and Jen,

Many many thanks for all the remarkable effort you put into your show. I really enjoyed listening to a show so obviousely made with care and love, and it makes me sad to think it is no more!

May I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

    Take care,

    Rob

  14. chris says:

    oh, I almost cried.
you’re like soooooo breaking up with us.
you were my first podcast, it will take some time to move on to another.

but i know what “its not you, its me” means. it means you found another podcast with a much better car and a job at the mall!

    (in all seriousness…..sniffle, sniffle)
i wish you the best and thank you for creating a public place for all of us. it was by far the best podcast out there.

and as someone much smarter than me once said:

“saying goodbye, why is it sad
makes us remember the goodtimes we had”

    best wishes……..

  15. Paul in MA says:

Thanks for all your effort Ryan and Jen. You truly made many horrible commutes tolerable and fun for me. You will be missed but I wish you both the best in your next adventures.

  16. LD San Pablo, Ca says:

Thanks Ryan and Jen. I will miss listening to you and we’all everybody every week. I hope podcasts will still be worth listening to 🙂

  17. laura says:

you’re such a sweet couple. thanks so much for the effort you made to put out such a fantastic show every week. we’ll miss you both!

  18. Pete says:

    Ryan and Jen

So sad to download your last podcast – my wife and I had a blast listening to you this season. The other lost podcasts aren’t quite the same… Thanks for being the first podcast we got addicted to – and good luck for the future

    Pete (Vancouver, B.C.)

  19. Collin says:

My brother, who had an ipod for about a year, didn’t even use it until I told him about your podcast. I didn’t think he knew HOW to….he started listening about 4 weeks ago and is really bummed out about you leaving….My roommate and I are devastated by your calling it quits but it’s also a little refreshing knowing that you’ve grown closer to each other – and are willing to try new stuff – it’s also refreshing that i can listen to some of my other podcasts now…we’ll miss you.

  20. Rachel says:

Wow, not the news I wanted to hear today. I was in disbelief what I was hearing! It just can’t be!!!!

I hope that you two will continue to do special Lost podcasts if you have the time!!

Good luck in all that you do.

  21. Rob Simpson says:

Gutted doesn’t cover it! I am so sad that the Transmission has ended. It was my introduction to podcasting and the most anticipated podcast in my iTunes. Guys, whatever reasons you had for stopping I hope that you are okay and having fun still. I shall miss the Transmission (the other podcasts simply don’t meet your standard… but shhh! don’t tell them).

For me, your podcast had become a part of the whole Lost phenomenon and it is a sad loss. If you ever decide to return then I’ll be there listening and if you ever needs help in getting the Transmission going again you can count on me!

  22. John says:

Thanks for all the shows you did. No need to explain how busy life can get! All the best to you!

  23. Craig Moore says:

Plugged my iPod for my Thursday morning drive to work, anxiously awaiting your Podcast only to find that it was no more. Had to drop by and leave a comment to say thanks for everything you’ve done, yours was always my favorite podcast and I will miss it dearly. Sadly, Lost will be less interesting without your enthusiasm and commentary. Can’t we kill off Charlie and keep Ryan and Jen?

    Anyway,a thanks again!
    -Craig

  24. Ben says:

Thanks for all your hard work. You will both be missed.

    Aloha.

  25. One Tre says:

So sad to see this show go. It’s been a great listen…hopefully you can find the time and get this show back up and running. Thanks for the memories.

  26. Peter says:

Sigh. I would have paid money for this podcast–and I don’t say that lightly. I haven’t even listened to the last one yet; just saw the download and note this morning in iTunes.

Thank you for all you have done for the LOST community. You really made a difference in people’s lives, I hope you know, as you can see from all the comments.

  27. frank says:

What a bummer! I just discovered your show about 2 weeks ago, and was instantly addicted. Now I feel like I’m losing a friend, the show is that good. Well, good luck in your future, and if you change your mind, we all everybody will sure be listening! 🙂

  28. Micaela says:

Say it isn’t so! I love the show and i’m sad it’s ending. I’ll definitley miss it!

  29. Jay says:

Thanks for all your time and effort–it’s been a great ride.

As a parent of two young kids I was always amazed at how you found the time and energy to produce an hour+ podcast each week (not to mention responding to hundreds of email messages, dealing with termites, etc.) I hope you enjoy next week’s episode and get to bed early for a change.

I think you did a tremendous job showcasing how podcasting could be used to connect fans from all around the world. Thanks for doing your part to blaze the path. My Friday morning drives will just not be the same without you.

  30. Marco says:

I really loved your show and listening to you while on the Rome subway, staying in touch with my favourite show in the US.
In my heart I hope this is a joke and next week while updating my podcast, another episode of the Transmission will be there…
    Ciao and Arrivederci

  31. Joanne says:

    Ryan and Jen,

With a family to tend to, I’m sure this got way too big so that you had no time for anything else! Even though I wrote to you in an email, I thought I would share my thoughts again now….I really enjoyed your podcast and will miss it and both of you and the tireless effort you put in to make this a great podcast and something to look forward to after every show.

Good luck to both of you!

    Joanne

  32. Dwane says:

Noooooooo!!! Well i guess thats it.

I was going to get you something for valentines day but now im just going to throw it in the river!!!!

I made you cookies!!! yeah i ate them but still the thought was there!!!

uhgghhhhhh I never really liked you anyway! your sister was the main reason I wanted to get with you. um wrong break up sorry!

Well the computer won’t be the same without you, but not to make you feel guilty its all for the better. You guys where a great reason to come to work on Thursday (I mean only on my breaks, or lunch you know what i mean).

Thanks for all the late nights and cool insider stuff best wishes…….

  33. John M. says:

Thanks for your great podcast. It was my favorite one and I looked forward to listening to it every week. It saved me from having to waste a lot of time trawling the forums for details about the episode that I had just seen. I loved your summaries and discussion and the fact that I could listen while doing other things like walking or doing the dishes. I can’t do that with forums.

I’m really sorry to see you go. Thanks for all your hard work and I wish you the best in your future efforts.

  34. Sylvie Belanger says:

    Hey,
I just started listening to your podcast a few weeks ago and I was loving it. I will definitly be sad to see you guys go, but I have to say that you have introduced me to the podcast world. I had no idea that you could do this. Anyways, my brother and I would like to thank you for letting us sit down and listen to something without us constantly fighting. Lost rules!
    Luv,
    Sylvie

  35. Portugal loves you!
    At least I do…
    What a nightmare!!!

    See you sooo.
    ;(

  36. Kris says:

Bad bad news! We are also parents of a small baby but used to curl up on a Thurs evening after we’d downloaded your podcast and our own Rian (pron. Ryan) was in bed and just listen….

We’d pay too just to keep your podcast coming!!! Is that something you’d consider?!?!?! Please….

The other Lost-casts are just a little too ‘up-their-own-arses’ and take themselves a little too seriously – you guys were genuinely fun and your love of the show and of people’s thoughts and ideas made the Podcast amazing!

Anyway Jen and Ryan, thanks for the wonderful podcasts up till now and let us know if there’s anyone we can lobby or pressure to pay you guys to continue. You totally have the right vibe and attitude that is half the fun of Lost!!! WE WILL MISS YOU!!!!

Kris, Pete and Rian (9 months)

  37. Tiffani says:

I’ve been with you since the start. You have always been my absolute favorite podcast and you will be missed!

Not to try and entice you back or anything, but I would pay for the download if you ever decide to return…

Maybe a bonus show somewhere down the road…

Ok, I’ll stop now. Best of luck, you guys rock!

  38. shalomii says:

O, man. I was just getting into the show. Even though I only started listening a few weeks ago I canl feel the void of not having a Transmission to look forward to. I really enjoyed the show and wish you guys could have gone on till the very distant end of “Lost”. Thank you both very much for the excellent shows you put on and I wish you much luck in anything and everything in life.

    Aloha,

    shalomii

  39. Ed says:

    Ryan & Jen,

Just wanted to thank the both of you for your time and hard work dedicated to this podcast. Last season I was a causal Lost fan. After listening to your podcast it got me to enjoy the show more and also to pay more attention to detail when watching. I wish you the best of luck in the future. Aloha!

  40. Leslie says:

What an outstanding show the Transmission was. What a loss. I’m not a huge fan of Lost but rather a huge fan of your podcast. What the two of you accomplished, bringing together people from all over the world (to talk about a TV show for Pete’s sake!) to think about philosophy, religion, the future, good and evil…. “Lost” will not be the same without the Transmission. Your humor and thoughtful examination of each show, your respect for all your listeners no matter how far out their comments, was truly remarkable and refreshing. I’m not sure why you’re bowing out…I suspect it has something to do with your having a *real* life. If that’s the case, then kudos to you for knowing what’s really important and where to place your priorities. Mahalo for the shows you created for your cyberpod friends. We will all be LOST without the Transmission. You will be missed….
p.s. Just to give you an idea of the demographics you’ve reached, I’m a 60 year old retired woman who really doesn’t like tv at all.

  41. Mercedes from Chicago says:

NOOOOOO!!! Well, it was very, very good while it lasted. My friends and I always comment on what a terrific podcast the Transmission is — extremely professional and well put together. You were always a pleasure to listen to — as well as an addiction!

  42. Pink from Singapore says:

Aaaw Ryan and Jen, I sure hope this is an early April’s Fools joke. However, I do understand that you do have priorities to sort out. Well, you are being listened to all the way here in Singapore. And it was just last weeks episode, when my husband, a local from Hawaii started listening in. Anyways, we will now check your vlogs. Take care and Aloha!

  43. Sue says:

    Ryan and Jen,
LOST is a great show but what you two added to it has just been amazing. I absolutely loved your show, no other podcast can compare. I hope you will come back for a special podcast maybe at the end of the season. We would all LOVE to look forward to that!!
Just know that you guys are the best and are greatly appreciated! Best wishes to you and your family!! Thanks for everything!

Hey guys, I’m sorry to hear you got so involved that you had to cut yourselves off completely. That’s what it sounds like, anyway. Burnout is one of the hardest things to avoid when you get involved in a project that you enjoy so much, but takes a lot of time.

You two got me hooked on podcasts. Yours was the first podcast I listened to, and now I feel like an expert podcast listener. I enjoyed your shows more than any others, but I think Jay and Jack might be picking up where you two left off.

Thanks for keeping it real and not letting the show get run down through burnout. You satisfied my Lost fix when Lost wasn’t around. Thanks

  46. Dave B says:

Sorry to hear The Transmission has ended… I had just come across it a few weeks ago. Thanks much for your great podcast. I have since tried a couple of others but they are no substitute–too much chatting by the hosts about themselves, dumb jokes, not so much about LOST itself. But I also realize how much time and preparation go into producing a GOOD podcast, and can understand why you’re unable to do it anymore.

Hope you’ll consider doing a special one-time or season-ending podcast, as someone else mentioned. Thanks again, and best of luck!

  47. anne o nymus says:

I never listen to podcasts and never, naver join fan groups, and never send feedback. But I accidentally happened upon your podcast and was instantly addicted. You did a phenomenal job in every way. It was better than professional radio. It was thoroughly entertaining well organized and I think we all began to think of you as friends. You will never know how much you will be missed.

If money was a factor and there is some way of sending you some offline, I am sure your audience/friends would want to rally and send a little each to compensate you for the cost of doing the podcast. (NOT a podcast for which there would be a charge, but rather voluntary contributions.)

I hope something brings you back.

    Aloha
    Namaste

  48. John says:

    Ryan and Jen,
Thanks for your great podcast. I am sorry to hear it is ending. I always made your podcast a priority and am sad to see it go. I was able to enjoy Lost so much more fully after listening. I hardly ever watch reruns, but do look forward to rewatching Lost after listening your to podcast. However, you know what’s best for your family situation. I wish you all the best.

  49. cori w says:

ryan and jen, we were so bummed to hear the news. my husband and i listen to the show religiously and then talk about it afterwards. thank you for all of your hardwork. your show was always a delight to listen to, and despite your protests, was quite professional as well. 🙂 best of luck in the future!

  50. phil says:

Hi, listened most weeks to your podcast. Such a shame that you can no longer continue. I wish you luck in everything that you do.
