HiUP #16 – Baghdad Bento

After a week off, show number sixteen starts as another “car cast,” with a staggering twenty minutes of yammering by yours truly. Of course I touch on iTunes, and I also tackle the tangled mess that is our state’s transit tax debate. Once again, only one song makes it into the mix, and I close with some shout-outs and plugs for local podcasting events. Have a great holiday weekend, everyone!

Hi there! Just to let you know you’ve got a big HawaiiUP podcast fan in Belgium. Keep them coming! 😉

Oh… and just so you know, I tried to subscribe to your podcast through iTunes but kept getting these ‘There was a problem downloading this podcast’ errors. Will check later if the problem persists.

Mahalo for the shoutout, Ryan! I wasn’t able to grab the latest HawaiiUP until earlier today so that was a pleasant surprise to hear. It came too late for me to mention it on CastPodder, but I’ll be sure to talk about it in the next episode.

I love your show and I found your website on iTunes. My family is from Hawaii and I was excited to see your show in the top 100. Now I feel a little more connected to my family in Kailua and Kaneohe. I will let them know about your show. Mahalo Ryan!

Hi I’m working late on a Saturday, bummer huh, well not really, the reason I’m working late is because tomorrow morning my family and I are flying to Kauai to take in the beauty and splender of Hawaii for vacation and man I am so ready to become immersed in the aloha spirit. We’ve been to Maui many times, first time to Kauai.
I found your podcasts through itunes, what a blast this new form of broadcast media, I’m like a kid in a candy store, which one do I choose? I chose yours hoping to get an early flavor for the islands, and you and your family are right on! Was it your daughter and son that sang, joyous, My kids are teenagers, my friend enjoy the stage of parenting your in because time will go by very quickly! The young lady the sang her song about love, very nice.
I’ve been debating renting “Sideways”, I’m in, and I disagree wine chat can be fun, because while the chatting continues more wine is being served.
Well that’s all for now, just a quick note to say great job and let you know you have a new listener to your podcast. Mahalo

Yeah, Jen shouldn’t rag so hard wine speak. I do see where shes coming from.
People like to hear themselves talk, even when they don’t know what they’re talking about. Especially when it comes to wine.
As far as wine goes, god help me I love it so….
