Jen & Ryan,

As ever, an excellent podcast. I've listened to your show when running for while now, and it was the chosen soundtrack to a recent long run through the beautiful East Sussex countryside - another great memory formed!

My thoughts on this ep:
-Outstanding episode, which successfully managed to integrate at least 3 episodes worth of story into one barn-storming whole
-Death of Alex was shocking, and once again raised the narrative bar. Lost is taking no prisoners!
-Ben Linus - awesome actor.
-Australia IS the key to winning Risk! Do you think they literally mean Australia, or is it the island
-Filming the final scene was definitely in London, although I couldn't be specific as to where in London. The doorman had a bloody awful accent though!
-Final scene. Ben in light, Widmore in darkness, yet Ben wearing black and Charles wearing white (I think) - nice play on the Backgammon theme. I find it reminiscent of classical Greek mythology, with an elder God playing games with a younger 'student' (perhaps a son, although that would make Penny Ben's sister, which I don't think fits)

Keep up the good work guys!

I don't think ben will kill Penelope. He will send her back in time with desmond and they will become the adam and eve seen in the first season.

My other issue is the time discrepancy what was expanded upon this season. The print out from the hatch computer showed a date of 9/22/04 as the date of a system failure (when desmond stopped pushing the button) which was the exact date in real world when flight 815 crashed. If there was a discrepancy then the date should have matched. It's possible that they're resetting the clock but I'm not sure why they would do this since it's an isolated system.
I'm hoping there is an explanation for this out there.
thanks

Another excellent podcast!

After listening to you I'm focusing on the Widmore calling Ben "boy". I think maybe Widmore had the island leader role back when they were the "hostiles".

As we have seen, Alpert seems to be a sort of king-maker. When it looks like Ben is loosing his grip on things, he approaches Locke who now seems to have Jacob's favor. He has probably done this before. I though about the scene when Ben runs out of New Otherton as a boy and runs into Alpert.

What if in the years between this scene and the purge, Jacob is seen to loose confidence in Widmore and Alpert is actively looking for the next leader to anoint. He sees that young Ben has a special connection to the island. In this context, Ben is an actual "boy" who has come to usurp Widmore's place.

I agree with Dorothy - Had the same thought Ben and Widmore are related in some way. Brothers crossed my mind. Also agree with Mr Z the raffle section was just a grin.
Found your podcast about a month ago and the podcast has given me a better appreciation and understading on LOST.
Love the podcast Jen and Ryan keep up the great work.

Hey guys! It's been a great joy rediscovering your podcast--Ryan, as you might remember from an email or two I sent you, I started listening to podcasts about Lost after The Transmission (phase one!) had ended, so it's been fun hearing you and Jen podcast about Lost again!

The portion of the show about Hawaii locations is especially fun. Though I live in New Jersey, I've been to California enough to be like "Look, that's the tunnel from Roger Rabbit AND Back to the Future II!" so hearing similar enjoyment from you both about the great and wonderful Lost being in your neck of the woods is enjoyable indeed.

Keep up the great work!

Great show, guys! I really enjoyed the raffle section. I'll definitely hang around the blog area to toss theories around. I normally discuss these theories with my brother or co-workers, but it's good to be mentioned by two podcasters that I admire. Have a great week, and look forward to "Next time on Lost!"
