The Season So Far

We’re midway through the hiatus, and taking advantage of the break to regroup and reflect on the fourth season of “LOST” to date. (As well as burning our way through our Netflix queue and revisiting other friends like “Battlestar Galactica”!) Jen and I are contemplating another “hiatuscast” to bridge the gap to Episode 4×09, mixing it up with a little “LOST” music, a “LOST” book review, and some filming updates. But of course we’d especially want you to be a part of it. So, please tell us: How do you like the season so far? Favorite episodes? Favorite moments? Any thoughts on the latest batch of new characters, or the evolution of our old friends? Comment below or call the LostLine at (808) 356-0127 before 8 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 11, and we’ll do our best to get it in the show!

Except for one or two episodes (probably the one focused on Desmond/Charlie), Season 3 left me completely cold and I was ready to bail on the whole show. Could not have cared less about the Kate/Sawyer/Jack cage match crap.

The Season 3 finale and everything so far this season has won me back over tenfold. I feel invested in the show and the characters again and I love the new additions (especially jeremy Davies and Ken Leung). It feels like there’s a sense of direction again and there’ve been some brilliant left turns. Can’t wait for the next run of shows.

My favorite ep so far is still “Confirmed Dead,” with “Ji Yeon” as a close second. “Ji Yeon” was great because of the way Team Darlton set up the split flashes, as well as the big reveal at the end — and, of course, because of the superb performances of Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim.

“Confirmed Dead” was awesome in a totally different way. I loved the pacing of the ep: we found out so much about the Freighties so quickly, and they were actually interesting! Like Omar, I love Jeremy Davies’ and Ken Leung’s performances, and I can’t wait to see more of them.

On a somewhat related note, I’d love to see more of Fisher Stevens. Hopefully a flashback involving Minkowski is coming up soon!

My favourite episode is “The Constant”. I think that one of the best things of the show is the editing and they “used” the “time travel theme”, even better than I could imagine! Great! For the “story” itself. I really loved the Kate episode and the Sun one. 🙂

So far this season has been one of the best. It did start out slow in my mind. Just because of the high quality season 3 finale. I dont have a favorite episode this season, but i have a couple of favorite moments. One of my top favorite moments was when Desmond finally got in touch with Penny. As a Lost fan i felt so good for desmond because he hasnt even talked to Penny over 13 years. He was right to when he told her the time he was going to call her.
Another top moment was when Us, Lost fans, found out that Michael was the spy on the boat. Most peolpe can’t stand Michael but i can see his point of view. He was put in a real tough spot with walt and i feel he did the right thing. For sure the last 5 episodes will have an assload of information. I hope Jack has an excellent flashforward. Some theories i have is michael is the man in the coffin. That is why jack went to the viewing because michael had the coordinates to get back to the island and no one else cared. Also, I believe The oceanic 6 will be rescued by pennys peolpe. Miles, Faraday and Charlotte will stay on the island. The whole freighter will be blown up by someone maybe ben. Ben lets certain peolpe off by making deals with each other. In the future kate will want to go back. Thats 6th season late. Either season 5 finale or the last seen of LOST period Jack will end up on the island where he sees his dad and sarah. Jin is not dead. We will see the other pilot later on in lost because we never saw him in episode Pilot aka the 1st episode. HINT HINT jacob a bundle of people. He is what you want to see in your mind. Locke didnt believe ben hence he saw darkeness. Hurley saw something because hes mental. A main question is how will sayid and desmond get off freighter? Is Ben a good person? Will michael end up mental? Will hurley get out of menstution?

For the most part, this season has been a great one… some more reveals and answers, thats been nice im liking the fusion of the freighties… they just mix in better than when they tried to introduce the tailies it just seemed maybe a little more forced? but anyways loving LOST and thank you ryan and jen I always download your podcast and listen to it the weekend after new lost eps air.

    YES! HIATUSCAST!!! Please do.

This season has been good although at times a bit frustrating. It seems like they were never really sure what to do with Danielle once she joined the regular cast, and they still haven’t quite figured out what to do with Charlotte and Miles. In particular I really want to see a Miles storyline! He is kind of annoying, but his ability to communicate with the dead could lead to some great reveals. I mean, think about all the ghosts on the island! Perhaps they could have a multi-centric episode about some of the people who died on the island. I would love it if we could get some kind of a flashback about the REAL Henry Gale, and of course there’s Libby, who was killed off with many many questions still lingering! And all those victims of the Purge… The possibilities are endless! I really wanna see something like this happen by the end of the season.

After season 3 final I was not sure how I would feel about them killing off Charlie and then the story line would be moved up so quickly. However 8 episodes so far and I am loving it so far. I can’t remember the last time Lost put me on the edge of me seat. I like how they are going back and answering some of the questions from the 1st season like the “Black Rock” ship. Also implying how the Darma project may have begun. As well as possibly hinting at the immortal Richard who might have been one of the crew of the “Black Rock”. It was great to see Desmond finally get to talk to Penelope after so long which I think has to be my favorite episode this season along with Ji Yeon. I have been wondering what would happen with Michael and hoping for his return and also finding out (laughs) that Tom is gay which was rather humorous to see and very unexpected after you see how he is on the island. All I can say is that I am excited to see where this goes.
