  2. Suewhoo says:

I can’t believe it. First a rerun and now THIS? Talk about a bad week. j/k Hey, Ryan and Jen, thank YOU for everything you did for LOST and for us. ABC should make you the official podcast! I know it must have been hard to do this, but good on you for quitting while your ahead. I hope everything’s okay, and that I’ll see you on the ‘Lage or hear you on some of the other podcasts soon. ALOHA! Everytime I hear it I think of you!

  3. Mike in DC says:

I was so excited to see a new show downloading, but as soon as I saw it was 8 minutes long I knew something was up. Bummed isn’t the half of it! I like your podcast almost as much as I like “Lost,” especially after last week, and it sucks that you’re giving up the show. For us at least…… and ABC, too!

You guys put together a great podcast, probably one of the best I listen to, and I have no idea how you did it with a “real job” and kids and who knows what else. Thanks for making “Lost” more than just another show. And hey if you change your minds, I’ll be listening!

  4. jeff says:

    Ouch… no more show?

damn… thank u so much for the great effort you guys put into the show.
i always look forward to listenning to your show each week.

  5. aaron m says:

  6. AK says:

Sorry to hear this. You guys did a great job. I’m sure you have good reasons for giving it up. I wish you the best.

  7. Maurice Tift says:

We’re really going to miss your show. It was an excellent meeting place for so many fans. Of course, I’m happy to hear that you will be staying with us as LOST fans. If you go to any fan conventions, I hope you’ll consider Dragon*con in Atlanta this September. Javier Grillo-Marxuach was at the last one and it was a blast. It’s no wonder LOST is such a great show with such talented writers. The show seems to attract interesting fans as well and I hope to meet more of them in person this year.

  8. Bobby says:

oh man… that was like the saddest thing ever. You guys were so cool and hospitable, besides making me like “Lost” more you made me want to visit Hawaii. and not even for the beautiful scenery but the beautiful vibe that you put out there.

Honestly, Lost isnt going to be the same without The Transmission.

Man… Kill off Charlie! don’t kill the Transmission! 🙂

    take care,

    Bobby

  9. Mark Grace says:

Well What can I say…… Thank you for all your effort. I haven’t had to download illegally from the internet due to your great reporting and reviews of LOST…

I will no doubt have to use your links to find another pod cast…

Thank you for your professional attitude and love for lost. You will be sadly missed and I wish you all the best with your future….

    本当に 俺は 悲しい!

  10. Peter J. Paul says:

Sad…..but THANK YOU so much for all you did. You were the best and you will be missed.

  11. Peter from Canada says:

    Muhalo Ryan and Jen.
This is worse news than when LOST was off for 6 weeks! Thanks for all your hard work in order to provide us with the best LOST podcast and definately the most comprehensive. It was a joy to listen to you each week and you will be sorely missed. Hopefully The Transmission will return sometime in the future.
I posted a thread about this at The Fuselage so that others can discuss this sad event:
    http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=35358

    Thanks once again and Aloha.

  12. Avery says:

I was so hoping your email was a sick urban legend….I am SO bummed. I look forward to your podcast almost as much as the actual show….you guys truly were (are) the best. You will be greatly missed…..Good luck to you both.

  13. Lovena says:

    Ryan & Jen,

So sad to see The Transmission end! I wanted to extend a big Mahalo nui loa to you both for all the work that you both have put into your podcast to make it enjoyable for all of us to listen to and to be a part of. I too looked forward to the actual show as well as your podcast! Once again, Mahalo nui loa from the east coast!

  14. nat says:

I listened to every single podcast you had. It’s one of a few enjoyments I had with my ipod. Wish you good luck and hope you come back to do podcast probably on some other shared interest topic. All I can say for now is without the transmission podcast, Lost will not be the same.

    Aloha and Mahalo nui loa

  15. Lynda says:

I feel like my best friend is moving across the country. Good luck in all your endeavors. Mahalo nui loa.

  16. Jude says:

    Ryan and Jen,

I just wanted to say that I am really going to miss hearing you guys on a weekly basis. Your Podcast is almost like an official extension of the show and you have my utmost gratitude for the wonderful show you guys turned out on a weekly basis. I have 3 kids myself so I can’t imagine how you managed such a busy life and a Podcast which truly sounded like a professional radio broadcast. Again Thank you for all you have done and good luck in all your future endeavors.

    Aloha and Mahalo nui loa

  17. Deb says:

    Ryan & Jen

Thank you and I will miss listening. The day after LOST the first thing I would do when I got into work was listen to you guys. You always did a great job!!!
    thank you and good luck.

  18. Jessica says:

Thank you Ryan and Jen for such a great Podcast. You will be missed. But like you said you have introduced us to other lost podcast, i guess now i’ll HAVE to give another one a try.

Thanks again and good luck with everything.

  19. Joe says:

    “Dude!!”

I got turned on to your show (by a friend) just before Season 2 began. Since then I’ve been listening to each and every one of yours shows. I’ve also listened to 3 other Lost Podcasts and yours was/IS by far the very best one! I’m really sorry to hear your great Lost Podcast has come to an end. You both will be sorely missed!

  20. Denis Murphy says:

I just wanted to thank you guys for a terrific podcast over the last few months. Not ony have you encouraged other podcats but you`ve also pleased a hell of a lot of lost fans around the globe.

    Thanks guys and namaste 🙂

  22. Gracie's Mom says:

    Ryan and Jen,
So sorry to hear that you’re ending your show. I’ve really enjoyed listening each week. Thanks to you I’ve found some other great podcasts to listen to. If you decide to do the show again, please put the word out on the other Podcast sites to let us know that you’re back.
Thanks for all the great shows and all the time that was put in to them.
    Kim

  23. Matt says:

Ryan and Jen, I have listened to your podcast since the start of season 2 and I have to say that it increased my knowledge, enjoyment and understanding of Lost more than any other postcast or Lost site. You should both be very proud of the excellent quality of the podcast you put out. You will be missed, and I hope that everything is ok. Best of luck with everything in the future.

  24. David says:

Wow… I will definitely miss your podcasts… there will be an empty space in my iTunes now. You were definitely my favorite podcast, but I wish you both all the best. I refuse to unsubscribe to the podcast though, just in case you decide to return 🙂

    Take care,
    David

  25. Ryan in Marietta, Ohio says:

    Ryan and Jen,

Thank you so much for sharing your time with us. I started listening to your pod cast before this season and enjoyed it so much! For you to work so hard and put in all the time to get a podcast out, is truly amazing. I will miss your podcast, but I refuse to delete you from my iTunes podcast subscribe list, just in case you want to make a comeback. Again, thank you for all you have done. You will be missed!

    Thanks Again,
    Ryan

  26. Neo Sithlord says:

    Ryan and Jen,
Sorry to see you go I never gave any feed back, lostline or email. However the tv show was so much better with your pod cast arround. I must say THANKYOU! I really enjoyed all of the episodes. I got hooked on Lost at the end of season one then found your podcast and it really got me hooked on the community and MORE so on the series! I wish you guys and your family the best. You made Lost more then just a show for me. Well I guess all good things…
    Mahalo,
    -Neo Sithlord
P.S. Keep the website alive… You guys still have the “island” insider scoop *grin*

  27. Uncle Igmar says:

    Yo from Philly,

This is my life – I get thoroughly hooked on podcasts because of both of you – before listening to The Transmission I was a podcast virgin – and now you pull up stakes and hit the road leaving me in withdrawal worse than during the 6 week Xmas LOST hiatus.

Actually, good luck in the future guys, you will be sorely missed and I wish you all the best for the future.

    John

  28. Cihan says:

Very sad news indeed. Thank you for all your hard work and enthusiasm, it was a great project and I’m sure we’ll all look back on this time when Lost aired on TV and remember The Transmission podcast fondly.

    Peace.

  29. Mike says:

Wow, I am shocked but I understand.

You two have done such a fantastic job in your podcast that it should be taken as a guide to pro podcasting. The job that you did on the Transmission was not only the best podcast out there, but was one of my favorite to listen to.

Good luck with your future and thanks for everything that you did.

  30. Mark says:

I can not tell you how sad I am right now. I am from Nova Scotia Canada, and when I listened to your podcast after watching Lost the night before, it was like having a warm conversation with good friends (even though you are half a world away).

Your voices your manner, and hard work made the podcast come across very natural and was always the best part of my Thursday mornings.

You have missed your calling, and if there was anyway to bring you back I’m sure that many of us would try.

  31. Ryan and Jenn,

On behalf of Racheal, my wife Stephanie, and myself, I can’t tell you how much we admire you guys. You guys have pioneered the Lost Podcasting movement that is helping literally 10’s of thousands of Lost Fans around the world to “get Lost!

In fact, it was clearly The Transmission that encouraged us to start the “generally speaking” podcast. And without the plugs you gave us on your show, we would not have a majoirty of the listeners that we have today.

I’ve listened to EVERY SINGLE episode of the Tranmission and some of them more than once! To say that you are going to be missed is quite the understatement! I almost feel as though we’re loosing a family member!

Rest assured, if you guys ever decide to come back to Lost Podcasting at ANY POINT in the future, I will certainly tell all our listeners to jump back on board with you.

I also want to thank you for starting the LOST PODCASTING NETWORK and inviting me into this wonderful family atmostphere that you fostered! You guys have an open invitation to our show at all times!

I personally know that it takes approximately 5 to 10 hours every week to really pull off a quality Lost Podcast. I have been inspired by you in a number of ways and I am grateful for your time and effort that you investing into improving my personal time!

Words can’t say enough! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

  32. Benson says:

Hey guys, I just heard the news this morning. I just wanted to drop you a line and say “Thank You” for producing such a great fan podcast. I only look forward to a couple days during the work week – Wednesday nights for “Lost” and most definitely Thursdays and Fridays to listen to your show. Dunno what I’m gonna do with myself now… I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me *sobs*… Anyhow, I hope you guys are okay, thanks again and hopefully we’ll meet again in the e-world.

    Mahalo.

    -Benson

  33. MarcP says:

    Ryan and Jen,

Thanks so much for your hard work — I really enjoyed your podcast and am sad to see it go. Don’t let the naysayers get you down — “you’ve done good”.

    See you on the flip-side.

  34. Niall says:

Thanks a million guys you were my first podcast and IMHO the best lost podcast. I found the amount of stuff about lost in the web too overwelming and you guys sifted the wheat from the chaff as we say in Ireland. Even though season two only starts in Ireland this week, wee lost-o-philes found ways and means of seeing the show. I couldn’t wait to see season two and your feedback section was great. I really didn’t catch half of the stuff in the show. Now I’m LOST. I don’t know which cast to move to.

    I was too was always aware that it must have taken SOOOOOOOO much of your time to do the show and am really greatful. Just for the record for me the Highlights for the show were;

1 your recording of the lost seminar with the cast and the collapsing chairs.

2 Horhay garcia phoning in, what a coup for you!

    SLAN (good bye in irish)

    NIALL

  35. Bryan says:

Thanks for all your hard work.

  36. Holly says:

    Ryan & Jen –

Thanks for all your hard work. Loved the show…hope to catch some of your postings on the other sites in the future.

  37. bee says:

    Ryan and Jen,
NOooooooo!! But I understand. I have often wondered how you two managed to put out such a quality broadcast in such a short amount of time!

My husband and I are big fans of the Transmission. One of our favorite things to do was to listen to the Transmission, then discuss everything, from ya’lls commentary to the fan feedback on the show. You all produced one of the best podcasts out there, and we will miss your professionalism and engaging conversational style.

  38. Steven says:

Thanks for everything, you guys were the best of all the lost podcasts. What made it great was your sunny, positive attitude and great insight. Good luck in the future.

    Steven

  39. Brendan says:

I think for a lot of us, you guys are like friends. We spend time with you every week and you’ve been so darn nice! I’m one of those who found your show more fulfilling than the actual episode of Lost each week… it feels like a favorite TV show has been cancelled. You say the listeners make the show, but I think the hosts make the show and (no offense to the other podcasters) there are no hosts as wonderful as you guys in the Lost podosphere. You will be missed, and I hope somehow we will get to hear your voices again on a regular basis. Thanks again for the time and effort you’ve put into The Transmission.

  40. Thanks for all your hard work, Im not sure what I was looking forward to more, the next episode of LOST or the next Transmission. Again thanks for everything you have contributed to the Lost community.

  41. Ralph says:

    ryan and jen,
thanks to you two, i would have never gotten into podcasting to begin with. i am really sad that you two have to go, but i hope to hear calls or emails from you on some of my other favorite Lost Fan Podcasts!
it would be really good to hear your thoughts every now and again!
thank you for everything you have done, and good luck with all you have in store for the future, and stay lost!

  42. Brian_N says:

    Hello Ryan and Jen,

Thank you for the wonderful podcast. Listening to your show made my work day go a little faster. I even got my boss to subscribe to you guys, and we talk about Lost constantly here at the office.

Your hard work and dedication to The Transmission will certainly be missed. The quality and content of your show is unequaled in the Lost world, and I will miss your local insights into the production of the show.

Good luck and best wishes in all that you do!

    Brian

  43. Jacob says:

    Ryan & Jen,
Been listening since you first showed up in iTunes. Not one to write emails, join forums, or call radio shows, but I wanted to add my “goodbye” to what I’m sure will be a long list. You guys did a fantastic job, one of very few shows that’s actually lived up to the promise of podcasting.

    Good luck.

    Jacob
    Boston

  44. DaleJava says:

As the great philosopher Hurley might say “Whoa, bummer dude!!”

I’ll miss the show, but I feel better that it is not the result of some serious personal problems (right??)

Hard to find an upside to this as you are (oops, were) a great extra to the show itself.

Best wishes for the future. I’m not unsubscribing from the pod cast. Some day, when I least expect, I’m hoping to see a download pop up.

Maybe you can at least say “Hi” once in while to let us all know how you are doing.

Thanks for the many months you have given of yourselves.

    dalejava in Vermont, USA

  45. Kevin says:

    Ryan and Jen,

This is such a shock. I hate to see you go. Your podcast was one of the best on the web. The one I look forward to more than any other each week.

Thank You for all the hard work you put in over the past months. You have really entertained and informed us.

Best of luck in the future. I will keep subscribed just in case.

    Aloha!

    Kevin in North Carolina, USA

  46. Murad Kheraj says:

Thank you so much for all your dedication and hardwork on this show.

I will definitely miss you and your “Forward Cabin.”

I wish you the best of luck in all your future ventures.

  47. Laura says:

I join in this loud chorus of thankyous. I am sure, like many many others, I am crying as I write this post. You are such a part of Lost that it can never be the same with out you.

Earlier this week someone posted a horrible comment about the Lost podcasts and shouted for them to start. Like the characters on Lost, I said nothing in defense of cherished friends (for though I have never met you, I feel like you are close friends). For that I am sorry.

I truely hope that your decision is one that was made to improve the quality of your life together. I was very moved when you said The Transmission brought the two of you closer. I have sent you an email with something too personal to post, but I do hope so much you will read it.

I had meant that letter to be my response, and I did not come here to post but to feel a bond with others who wish you well. But here I am posting anyway. Thank you, Ryan and Jen. May you find peace and joy, health and happiness in this life and all others. I look forward to seeing you on the boards. Like Dale, I am not unsubscribing. I hope that you might reconsider yet. If not, then I hope you might put out a monthly special. At the very least, I hope that one day, when least expected, there will be a download from my friends, Jen and Ryan.

Jai Bhagwan, I honor the light within you.

    Laura

  48. Bill says:

Oh man, I’m really very sad about this. I listen to about a half a dozen podcasts and this is the ONLY one that I’d be sad about if it were suddenly gone-and now it is.

I must tell you that after I found your podcast my interest in LOST got markedly higher. I started sharing theories etc with my wife and really looked forward to Thursday mornings podcast. I called in for the first time recently and was psyched that you used my call in the last podcast (first one in the lost line calls “kick ass podcast”).

It was also so nice just to hear a podcast from Hawaii! My wife and I love it there and are hoping to move to there in the next year or two, hopefully.

Anyway, it’s been said above^ many times but I’d like to restate that I think you both did an excellent job with The Transmission. You both have great voices and made the show fun, accessible and intereactive. I wish you both much luck in whatever you do from here.

Mahalo nui loa. Ahuiho malama pono.

    Bill in New Hampshire, USA

  49. John says:

I’m very sorry to hear the The Transmission will no longer be available to help me work out my own theories, but completely understand. How you managed to produce two podcasts, maintain multiple websites and blogs, raise a family and work is beyond me.

I enjoyed The Transmission each and every week, and probably listened to each episode more than once. You two have produced an excellent podcast and will be missed.

Please don’t tell me that the same fate awaits HawaiiUP, the mothercast of The Transmission.

Thanks for all the great talk. Aloha!

  50. Nate says:

I will miss your PodCast. I have truely enjoyed listening each Thursday during my work day. Thanks for all the in sights into my favorite show. You have done a great job. May God bless you and your family.
